About Us / Our Mission & Vision
Bethesda Cares has worked to prevent, ease, and end homelessness in Montgomery County since 1988—meeting people where they are and walking alongside them toward stability.
We seek to prevent, ease, and end homelessness by connecting neighbors to essential supports, so that they may return to stable housing in the community.
A community where everyone has a place to call home—living with purpose, belonging, and connection.
Housing First. Stable housing is not a reward for compliance—it is the foundation from which everything else becomes possible.
Our work spans the full continuum—keeping people housed, meeting urgent needs, and building paths to long-term stability.
Stabilizing households before a crisis becomes homelessness—through timely financial support and practical solutions. In 2025, eviction prevention grants reached 446 people, including 172 children.
Immediate, life-sustaining support that builds trust—helping people survive today while planning for tomorrow. Our staff conducted 5,877 visits and served thousands of meals in 2025.
Housing-first pathways and wraparound support that help people regain stability. In 2025, clients we housed spent an average of 218 nights in a home—a median of 231 nights.
Your support helps Bethesda Cares reach more neighbors, prevent more evictions, and provide more nights of safety and stability.
